Lash extensions and a lash lift are often grouped together because both focus on the eyes. They work differently, though. Before picking an appointment, describe the change you actually want: more length, more fullness, or a more lifted appearance using your natural lashes.

Extensions add fibers

Extensions add individual fibers to natural lashes. That gives you a way to discuss additional length and fullness. A photograph can help you explain the effect, but a look on someone else is not a guaranteed preview of your own result.

A lift works with your own lashes

A lift changes the curl of the lashes you already have. It does not add extension fibers. If you like the idea of working with your natural lashes, this is the distinction to bring into your conversation with Olivia.

Three questions to bring to Olivia

• Am I asking for extra length and fullness, or mainly a different curl?
• Which details do I like in my reference photographs?
• What care and future appointments will the option I choose involve?

Do not choose based on a universal promise about how long results will last or how little care they need. Ask for the instructions that apply to your appointment and the service being used.

If you already have extensions

Tell Olivia before booking. For a fill at Beauty by O’Shade, at least 50% of your extensions must remain; otherwise, please book a new set. If you are uncertain, ask which appointment to reserve rather than guessing.
